Language barrier: HighCultural distance: Medium
- The beach culture exists in Barcelona but swimming season is shorter than Australia. The Mediterranean is swimmable from June to October.
- Barcelona's nightlife starts much later than you are used to. Dinner at 10pm and going out at midnight is standard.
- The relaxed Australian attitude translates well to Spanish culture. You will adapt to the pace quickly.
- Time zone difference with Australia is brutal (7-10 hours). If you work with Australian clients, expect early mornings or late nights.
- The Aussie community is small but very social. ANZAC Day gatherings and regular meetups happen throughout the year.
