Pedralbes
Pedralbes is where Barcelona's old money lives, and the difference from the rest of the city is visible the moment you arrive. Detached houses with gardens and pools sit behind tall hedges on wide, quiet streets. The Monestir de Pedralbes, a 14th-century Gothic monastery, anchors the neighborhood culturally, while Gaudi's Dragon Gate at Finca Guell marks its eastern edge. Two-bedrooms average EUR 2,200, the highest in Barcelona, though many residents live in much larger properties. International schools like St. Peter's School and the Japanese School cluster here, along with several consulates. The L3 metro at Palau Reial and Zona Universitaria provides transit, but most residents drive. Walkability is limited - streets are spaced far apart and designed for cars, not pedestrians. Living in Pedralbes is best for well-off expat families who want space, security, prestige, and international schooling. It is the least Barcelona-like part of Barcelona, which is exactly what some people want.
