Step 1: Book Your Appointment
The hardest part is getting an appointment. They release new slots daily around midnight. Use the official site: sede.administracionespublicas.gob.es. Select 'Certificados y asignación de NIE' not just 'NIE'.

Arrive 15 minutes early at the designated Comisaría de Policía. Bring all originals and copies. The officer will verify your documents and give you a receipt. Your NIE number is usually assigned on the spot.
